Some people leave a mark on our lives long after a brief encounter.

A conversation on a night train. A friendship from a summer abroad. A stranger who shared a moment that somehow stayed with you. You may not remember their full name. You remember how the moment felt.

Years pass. Cities change. Phone numbers vanish. And yet, every now and then, that person comes back to mind — and you wonder:

Where are they now? Are they happy? Do they ever remember that moment too?

Why we built this

We Met Here was born from a simple belief: meaningful encounters deserve to be remembered, even years later. Not every connection needs to be loud, public, or permanent to matter. Some of the most important people in our lives only stayed for an afternoon.

This isn't another social network. There are no followers, no likes, no feeds demanding your attention. There is only a quiet map, a few honest words, and the possibility that — somewhere out there — the other person remembers too.

Built on trust

Memories are personal. We treat them that way. Your information stays private by default. Nothing is sold. Nothing is broadcast. You decide what to share, with whom, and when. A match only happens when two people independently remember the same moment — and even then, talking is always your choice.

A quiet hope

Sometimes we hope an old acquaintance is doing well. Sometimes we wish we could simply tell them that we still remember. And sometimes — quietly, gently — life gives that moment a second chance.
